There has been an explosion of interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) over recent years, which in turn has created a lot of discussion on what this means for the role of statisticians working in the pharmaceutical industry. It's my belief that the role of statisticians will evolve, but in a positive way, increasing both the interest of the role  and the necessity for skilled statisticians being engaged with pharmaceutical development. This article explores this question in more detail.
